Re: Another old newbie!

Sorry for your loss - good to hear you're coping alright. I am glad to see some familiar names around here, still, as I am also back from a bit of a hiatus.

Re: Map size discussion

Could it be that the terrain map is skewed? Check what happens when you export it with gmp2bmp?

Re: The Ultimate Tycoon Game - USA

Just wanted to voice my appreciation that you are making maps for this game! Haven't looked at it yet, as I am not going to get to test-drive it anytime soon; but just wanted to leave a note of encouragement.

Thank you! I an baffled by the intitial problem, though. Maybe an engine should come online that you have not installed? Not sure. At least now you seem to have it working.

Congratulations, sugus!

As for the irritating requirement of actually establishing a connecting track, that is absolutely the idea behind the design. You are supposed to create a network connecting all the countries, after all.

Yup, know your economy. Especially, before becoming chairman of a company, check that the industries it already owns are making money.

Re: Isola Nova

Ah! I think I got the picture, now. Thanks for 'splainin it. Keep me posted on how it goes. I often end up buying the peskiest of the AI, if they're getting in the way, too much. It is a nice way of building player cash for major takeovers, too. I also highly recommend buying industry, for cash-flow.

Re: Isola Nova

Thanks for playing, Ray! The AI is your friend, in that their trains make you lots of money. As you expand your network, their enthusiasm for clogging your rails will subside, and remember that you have all the time in the world to get those load-counts. But maybe you could try again, starting with ...

Re: Ankh-Morpork

Thanks for playing, and thanks for starting this thread, Bruno! I've downloaded many of your maps since getting back, but I have not yet had a chance to play any. But when I do, I will make sure to give you such detailed, useful feedback, as well. I looked at the map again, and the rivers do look gh...

Re: RT3maps - the long awaited scenario overview utility

Adding java to the path environment means that step 2 does now, indeed, work. But this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_22\bin\java" -cp WTbse.jar;. RT3maps gave me that: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: RT3maps Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundExc...

Re: RT3maps - the long awaited scenario overview utility

I think that you should add the java installation's bin directory to the PATH environment variable, e.g. (on my system) How would I go about doing that? When you open a command window (a console) and type in 'java' as command, you should see somthing like I did that, and I get "'java' is not r...

Re: RT3maps - the long awaited scenario overview utility

This is what I get:

Code: Select all

C:\Our Programs\RT3maps\WTrt3>java -cp wtbse.jar;.rt3maps
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
I have java installed correctly.

EDIT - moving the utility's main directory directly to C:\ did not make a difference

Re: RT3maps - the long awaited scenario overview utility

I am using Win 7 home premium. I have installed this utility in C:\our programs\rt3maps\ The command line shortcut will not do anything, so I ran the jar file directly. This is the message I received: --------------------------- Java Virtual Machine Launcher --------------------------- Failed to loa...

To add to this, the apothecary and scrapyard do not show cargo demand in the English version, either.

Re: collapse of price of/demand for "hides"

Thanks, Ned. I read that part of your intro to TM. And as you can see, the publisher in question pre-spawned in the fashion you described. I have a follow-up question, however. Is there any reason other than game balance to avoid spawning? I quite like the idea of random spawning, in that it increas...
