Re: Channel Ferries
Here's another test map for those interested. I've redone the existing layout, so that the Ferry company now owns all the stations currently on the map, and added maintenance buildings behind them on 'land' before disabling the ability to build this. This means all trains will have to be routed to v...

Re: Channel Ferries
Under disable stations on the special conditions page, the description says it includes service towers and maintenance sheds. When the ability to build stations is disabled, I seem to be unable to build the towers or sheds. Brilliant. That does indeed disable service towers and maintenance sheds as...

Re: Channel Ferries
was going to mention that but I figured it was in the early states of the scenario so I'd wait a bit and see if the reserve zones and floating buildings got fixed and I see you noticed. Oh it was a test. Did I pass? As Brunom said you'll likely have to use multiple events to give an approximate amo...

Re: Channel Ferries
Progress on this one now. I decided to go with Blackhawk's option two and have redone the track layout so that the Ferries now own a port (a small station) right on the edge of the towns and the AI will then have a major station further in land that will, in some cases over lap to provide cargo. Thi...

Re: Denying access to a territory.
Seems like a few people have been having problems with territory access....myself included....Stoker posted an explanation that was a bit confusing, and then posted a sample map that is 1.06, so now that I've managed to get it working for my current project, I'll try to post a clear instruction for...

Re: organizing events
Seems like a neat idea. Anyone who has looked at my maps - mostly for TM of course - will see that I tend to group things together by name and in a rough order of (starting at the top) Ledger Setup -various groupings to do with whatever is happening in the scenario such as territory access, goals et...

Re: Channel Ferries
Rather than using events to set who gets access or not you could also individually set each company's access in the editor. Just ctrll+click on the player's portrait in the stock market window and then go to the territory window and click on the territories and you can give or revoke access to terr...

Re: Channel Ferries
Hope someone's reading this thread. I've hit a snag that is totally baffling me. I've set up the territories like this. The AI companies, have access to France, England and the Channel Island. (all of them have access to all of them although they aren't joined). The Human player has access to the Ch...

Re: Channel Ferries
Okay I'm back on this one again as I've finally got some train time. ::!**! I've set up the frerry routes in the editor using something of artistic licience along the way and now need to do some testing to see how much help the AI's are going to need in the UK, France and Channel Island (yes I've ad...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" (CA02)
Am I right in thinking that this scenario is proving challanging then guys? I did put in some "Behind the scenes" EVENTS to make takeovers more likely in the latter part of the game which probably helps. And yes, I've got Train Master on this, but then I knew what was going to happen. ^**l...

Re: Converting a 1.05 map to a TM map
The guides were made from converting 1.06 maps into TM but, it shouldn't make any difference, really which version you are converting from.RTFanStation wrote:viewtopic.php?f=72&t=2337
It just says converting RT3 maps to TM...so I'm expecting 1.05 to be included in that.

Re: Channel Ferries
That's what I thought MisterHinton, I was just hoping someone would know a way around it. Still as you point out it is only the AI's for which I'd have to set up later trains for as I could disable all trains after a certain point globally, and then 'Event' those in for the AI's to use. That would w...

Channel Ferries
Here's the idea for the scenario I'm currently working on based once again, upon a height map provided by Wolverine@MSU The concept is simple in that the human player takes the role of the various ferry companies crisscrossing the English Channel, while the computer will run the companies in the UK ...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" (CA02)
The typos aren't really much of an issue. Except I figured having things spelled correctly and in the correct tense may help a future translator of the scenario. (And it's a pet-peeve of mine with loose/lose) Sorry about that and I was expecting there to be a lot due to the ammout of text in the sc...

Re: TheHub3 Civilian (a TM exclusive!)
I was still left with Trackswitcher or bronze. I did get further now, but my industrial base still wasn't strong enough :-( . However, building an industrial base is clearly the key to success here. Actually that's the key to winning nearly all of my scenarios.... oh... maybe I shouldn't tell you t...

Re: TheHub3 Civilian (a TM exclusive!)
Sounds like you needed to build up your industry infurstructre a lot more than you did in the earlier part/s of the game before N.E.D started making their demands in a way similar to what banest said in the message above yours.

Re: Editor Problem
As the other said, the Industries getting re-set to 0 if you happen to click on the screen anywhere but an actual button is a bug in the editor and can be VERY annoying which is why I mentioned it a lot in my "converting maps from RT3 to TM" guide. However, if it is just that screen that h...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post
Oh yes, that's what we were going to do wasn't it... no I didn't forget about making it campaign... honest...
Shall I send it to you , Ned, rather than via FTP to Hawk, instead... just so 'no one' gets to see the twist in the middle before it's made available.

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire" - TEST MAP post
Test plays of the new version have been completed.
The victory conditions have been set.
Now I just need to finally paint the map and FTP it to Hawk for posting...
