Re: A faint echo of a scenario idea
allow them to be built by the player then you lose that control. I know, I've done it. Haven't we all! ^**lylgh And on that subject, be careful not to place any buildings in the editor that you don't want the player to be able to build later on, as once placed, these can't be disabled in the INDUST...

Re: A faint echo of a scenario idea
as WPandP said, the river - if painted as a river - will add as a road (well canal) and good will travel down (and up) it, however if you paint as ocean or lake then it won't. Or not as much anyway. (BTW: rivers are a great way to get the AI raw matierals in its factories as the AI tends just to joi...

Re: Trainmaster Snaps
I didn't take any pictures but I do remember while playing on Monkey Motors there were some nice views as the trains went through the deep river valleys. I always loved the way that map was painted.... ^**lylgh Seriously, the only snaps I take are of things that go wrong so I can fix them.... maybe...

You should have one dated 19th Jan 2010!
But don't worry if you don't as I'm going to put in some other corrections and send again.

I've got a little behind on this one, as my train time has been limited recently but hope to get back to it shortly.

Re: Monkey Business (CA09) Campaign Scenario
I finally got around to playing this map from the campaign file download and was reading some of the past comments. The ability to build the Golden Coast does indeed make some things easy at times. I did send a fixed version to Ned but perhaps he hasn't used it yet. If not I can send again with som...

Welcome Moggie, we have several things in comman, although I'm not Finnish, and would always take a dog over a cat, but still.

Re: Role of machinery
There's nothing stopping you from building your own Machine shop, although you'll need electronics first, as you need that to make machinery.
That's all part of the challange of the scenaro, of course.

Re: Aperi Ski Bridges
Why is it impossible to build a bridge over the water from near Capitol City to near Laker? Is it a bug or has it been purposedly prohibited? When I try to build the bridge, only one or two lengths of the bridge are built and it suddenly ends in the middle of the water. It was done on purpose, to e...

Re: Monkey Business (CA09) Campaign Scenario
Thanks Ruth.
I did think about putting in something to cut the vast ammounts of money that can build up, as you own all the industry but didn't want to over complicate thing... well not anymore.
Just don't tell your old man, that it's my fault he's a Railway widower!

Re: Bug in Monkey Motors
Yep that's a bug.
I blame the scenario writer for not paying enough attention.
Seriously thanks for mentioning it cos, I never spotted it in all the test plays and checks I did.

(that's right you young whippersnappers, I'm an old fart, and proud of it! Can you write Software for the Commodore 64?). Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"
The AI companies are not likely to take over other companies...at least not in my experience. No they don't, at least I've never known them to do that. What I meant was, is that as the AI set up companies (Ie all those but the L&M) will have access to all territories that the Human doesn't, one...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"
Ned, more details about the Corn Laws here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_laws And you'll find this interesting from the point of view of both scenarios: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Corn_Act especially as it was passed three years before the corn laws themselves were repealed. I'll be ma...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"
Firstly I forgot to mention in the above catch up thing that I also added in sevearl more rivers, and a few extra cities, to bridge some of the gaps and to give the AI's easier connections to make (becuase the AI's are rubbish!) Okay, thanks Ned for the information. about your tycoons and leaders. T...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"
Even more progress now, and we finally have a map that will actually play... at least up to a point. I had to delete the Human's rail line, as all the territory changes appear to leave the game confused about accesses, this though turned out good as I had to move the Manchester Ship Canel, south a b...

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"
Robert Stephenson is the only one I really want as I have another brit currently running the L&M but he can be swapped to the human.
The rest of the AI's it doesn't really matter who they are going to be.
However, if it means swapping files around then it's probably not worth it.

Re: Scenario in progress - "Warrington Wire"
Progress has been made today. First thing fixed was to make the AI players mandatory as there wouldn't be much challenge with out them. ^**lylgh The territory access has been set up, with the AI's getting access to all by Cheshire and Lancashire, which are just for the human, while the L&M just ...
