Before this thread gets to deep, and as much as I dislike Obama, let's please try to keep political discussion limited to the political forums. ;-)

No offense meant to either one of you. :salute:

Re: Obama's train engine Unread post

Were those two engines actually available, or did they just renumber other engines?

Have no idea. I got this picture from some friends in Colorado. I would think that they were probably renumbered. Just too much coincidence.

According to a website i found "Amtrak P42 Photos By Engine Number" http://www.4rr.com/33/photos_001.htm, Both 44 & 120 are actual numbers in the fleet.

Re: Obama's train engine Unread post

How many cars was it pulling that it needed two engines? Is there something Freudian at play here? :)

Re: Obama's train engine Unread post

Well, after all, it is the president of the United States. What if one engine failed in say, Podunk, Kansas or Stink Creek, Texas, as they tool across the country?

Re: Obama's train engine Unread post

There's always a backup plan when it comes to the President.

I was watching a special on Air Force One, and they have TWO planes at all times, in case one fails.

Re: Obama's train engine Unread post

I was wonderin' that myself. *!*!*!

All kidding aside, I saw that too. The second one was a decoy, wasn't it? It was also for back-up, but it flew at the same time as Air Force One, but took a different route, if'n I remember right.
