Narrow gauge weirdo! Simplex combustion locomotive

Usually this locomotive comes with armored cab. but sometimes it is open topped vehicle. an unusual feature is an engineer seat. it faces neither forwards or backwards, it faces sidewards!!!
the locomotive runs on 60 centemetre track, originally it was intended to do mining job. but it went to war, feeding allied trench lines in France with troops, guns, ammo, and other supplies.
I think this is an early model locomotive, the late model has siderods and it is a bigger hood unit.
