weather in your area Unread post

With many places experiencing weather events yesterday, I was wondering how others faired.

There was about 300,000 without power yesterday around Seattle.
This morning about 30,000 were still waiting for their power to return.
I normally lose power with yesterdays wind and rain storm.
But with so many houses having been built around me,
I'm no longer the last house on the line. I lost no trees; just a few limbs.
Late last night I was even able to play some RT2.

How was the day for you?

We had a pretty bad storm last night in the Sault. We got a ton of rain, and some big lightning flashes, but nothing serious happened. It was just really weird to see rain coming down in sheets like that  .

BTW, What happens on 12/21/2012?
I don't drive a dogsled to work, I don't live in an igloo, and we're the SECOND LARGEST COUNTRY ON EARTH!!!

12/21/2012 is, I think, when the Mayan calendar runs out. They predicted that there would be no more time beyond that point by making their calendar work as something of a countdown.

Either that, or that is the date when the replacement OS for Windows Vista will come out, and promptly ruin us all utterly.

Your guess at the Mayan calender is correct.
Vienna (Windows 7) is allegedly due out at the end of 2009 or early 2010.

We didn't get any of those storms down here in Atlanta. Above us and below us but it missed us.

Oh good, so we'll all meet our M$ demise well in advance of the Mayan apocolypse! That will be convenient. ;-)

As far as I'm concerned, Vista is the start of the Micro$oft demise.
Vienna will simply secure it.
I'll never run Vista. Heck, I don't even like XP.
