Just saying hi! Unread post

I've not been around for a while so I thought I come in a say hello. I've stayed busy with trainz and Blender. I'm actually starting to get good at making models! here is my latest site. My latest layout pictures are due out sometime next week, but it does have the pictures of the models I made.

Are there any new train game to get excited about yet?

Hello again, MrScott - I'm surprised nedfumpkin didn't take the opportunity to publicise his Trainmaster development which I think is pretty exciting.

Nice to see you around again!

I may want to read up on Trainmaster before I start any map making.

I have some new layout pics at my site;;;

If I was to do a new RRT3 map, what would it be about? What hasn't been done yet? I'd like to hear some ideas.

Re: Just saying hi! Unread post

Here's what hasn't been done: The bottom of the ocean.

Imagine that some sci-fi scenario has driven the world to dwelling underwater (perhaps massive ozone depletion?) and rail-bound transportation is the best way to move products in the submarine environment. Use the bmp2gmp tool to apply a really psychedelic terrain paint scheme, perhaps with "bubbles" marked out around each city to show where each city's dome (invisible) meets the sea floor. The actual in-game "ocean" can be used to represent ocean depths too deep to traverse (due to pressure; only submarines i.e. boats can travel there).

Well, just a thought. There's always some other idea out there!

Hi,

Are there any new train game to get excited about yet?

I ecently bought the newly issued ATrain8, which, after owning the original first version, many many years ago, I thought must be pretty cool by now. Sorry, it's not a patch on SMR or Tycoon 3. Graphics are not bad but gameplay and controls are poor.

I was also a player of the original A-Train...that's what got me interested in trains and computures.

It seems most new games coming out these days are more about eye candy and not much on game play. :-(

Re: Just saying hi! Unread post

I think the last new game I bought was Madden 07...I got football fever that lasted about 2 weeks. I think it's a sad time in computer games all around. I know the games I still play are getting old. Tropico , RRT3 and Axis & Allies. We really do need something new play with.

How about a scenario about laying tracks in Antarctica.

Random events such as avalanches, thinning ice and polar bears would ne neat.

And the only industry to start might be oil wells or mines. It would make the Mexico scenario look like a stroll in the park.. :-D
