7+ hours of railroading in beautiful Norway
Re: 7+ hours of railroading in beautiful Norway
I watched it on TV in HD
I had to watch the rerun also, and I loved every minute of it.

Very interesting, and very beautiful, I love it.
In Germany, the ARD or the ZDF (don't remember) show a program, just before the beginning of the day (at 4 or 5 am), of about half an hour in the same way, with railway lines of every part of the world. I think that there is some DVD, but can not speak german and so, can not understand how to buy it or so...

I ordered a DVD 6 weeks ago on the RRs of Norway from our local library.
I'm still waiting for it.
This thread is just what I needed.
Outstanding sites to look at.

Holy cow! Who, in their right minds, would want to live there??? I guess if you were born there, you didn't have a choice, huh?
It's so drab and colorless. There's no greenery or yellowery or redery and it looks cold as hell, too. Sheesh!
Interesting RR footage, though.

It's correct that the 9 minute long YouTube clip is from the Ice Planet Hoth or Finse where it was filmed. Finse is located at 1222 meters (4009 feet) above sea level.thegrindre wrote:Holy cow! If you had the opportunity to watch the whole 7+ hours, you would see that Norway is a beautiful country, with a lot of greenery, yellowery and redery.
Instead take a look at this YouTube clip which is from the brand new light railway in Bergen , Norways 2nd largest city.
With station names like Florida and Paradis(e)

This is the entire 27 minute long line

I see there is some beautiful areas in Norway but, I also see everybody is waring heavy clothes.
I never thought about it much but Norway is way up north in cold weather country, I guess.
Brrrrr, I like it warm, myself.
