It won't play for me. I just get a black screen.

Works for me...maybe a problem with your flash player? Try a different format...they're listed on the left.

Re: Talyllyn Railway Unread post

That was a treat, it makes you realise just how those first trains in RRT scenarios would have looked back in the day.
Not to mention that at the time this movie was made, I looked like one of those little boys in the little shorts and caps, oh my word I had a chuckle over that, I seem to remember having perpetually dirty knees and the days were so long back then.
Thanks ned I had fun watching this one.
I got up and the world was still here, isn't that wonderful ?

I downloaded the MPEG4 file (60 MB) but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I especially like the part where since they don't know what the part that fell off is, it can't be important. ^**lylgh

I am now leaning ery heavily on making this a TM scenario. Since there aren't any maps made of Wales this might be fun.

Re: Talyllyn Railway Unread post

A lovely film - and a place to visit in the future, definitely!!

A kind of similar place (without such a film, though) here in Finland is this: http://www.jokioistenmuseorautatie.fi/e ... locos.html.

There you can see and ride five narrow gauge steam engines in the summertime. They are somewhat newer than those in Wales, and four of the five are relatively powerful 2-8-2, 2-8-0 and 2-6-2 freight engines. The fifth is the oldest one, a delightful small 0-6-0 Porter. The Forssa-Jokioinen line was an industrial freight line with some very steep grades. Therefore, it is not rare to see a long passenger museum train double-headed by two heavy coal or wood burners. Quite a sight and experience when these old freight engines haul their load up the steepest climb in Finland's track network late at night, sparks flying and engines booming and puffing... The railroad is located in a very beautiful countryside, and it is possible to travel there directly on Finnish State Railways (VR) regular routes. Recommended! :)
