But (sorry!) ... there's a problem with two of the buildings, the Hospital and the Construction Firm - both CtD when you click on the toggle. The other new buildings are fine, including the "warehouse" types. I don't know enough to help fix it.
|--0 *sigh* Coulda sworn these were working... will look into it. Hope I don't have to pull the patch.

If you have to fix something, no big deal. I'll just update with the new one and make note of the time and date it was updated.

Yes, I have to fix something. The patch went out with a failed experimental binary rather than the correct final. New upload coming in about ten minutes.

Will this fix the building crash problem. In my 1.06B scenario, clicking on a building causes a crash about half the time. My last click on a building caused the hourglass to come up, followed by the building coming up and then a little while later (I was doing nothing for a few minutes) the game crashed and said "Pack element < > not found".

Basically, 1.06 isn't working. I redownloaded today and it still crashes when looking at certain buildings. I tried to delete 1.06 and it took 2 tries, but 1.05 won't load scenarios, not even the tutorial - somehow I lost part of the Tenwheeler file "profile.imb" so RT3 is dead.

Addendum: I've tried reloading 1.05 and CtC but the tenwheeler file isn't showing up.

On the tenwheeler: This engine is Bombardiere's creation and is part of both the Loco Pack and 1.06; it's not in 1.05 or CtC. If you're getting a missing 'profile.imb' file, it means RT3 is not finding data\PopTopExtraContent\ten.pk4. If you want to get rid of it altogether, delete data\EngineTypes\tenwheelers*; if you want it back without 1.06, run the 1.06 installer, uncheck everything, then select only that locomotive.

Doublecheck the size of your downloaded rt3_1.06.zip file. It sounds as if you still have the broken first version somehow.

Thanks. I finally got it working, but not after first deleting RT3 and then trashing the engine file and the building file. Based on your comment, it was probably the engine file wipe that fixed things. What a joy to see 1.06 running; I hope it still does tomorrow when I can get back to it.

Strange occurance - I noticed a construction firm built itself before a scenario start in a city that was not set to build construction firms. Further, the zone surrounding the city is not set to build them, and the map does not have one pre-built.

edit - I just tried a restart and the firm showed up in a different city, also one that didn't have it in it's build list.

Me too! Also, in my case, it's not enabled in the Industry bit of the Editor so it really shouldn't be there at all! :?:

The Construction Firm is set up as a type-3 building, like Retail or Cinemas, so it probably gets created as part of the default city building distribution. You'll likely see unasked-for Hospitals popping up as well.

Hey, I didn't start it. RT3's had gummint-owned housing, stores, and radio stations since the beginning. Little did you know you've been playing in China all this time...

Are type 3's capeable of producing or providing anything, or are they just typical govt demanders.

Also, this isn't a bug, but the warehouse design has a very large footprint. Did this design have an advantage over smaller buildings, such as you couldn't provide the cargo service you wanted in non warehouse types?

The warehouse model is a placeholder for five buildings until our graphics artists have a chance to replace them with something prettier. :) I had to pick something that ideally wouldn't be mistaken for another building; unfortunately that pretty much limited choices to the port and the warehouse.

Mostly wanted to get the building types in there so that scenario writers didn't have to guess whether a player had installed a building pack or not.

Hardly a bug I suspect but the patch plays havoc with some older scenarios which worked perfectly before. I've been replaying two (I think they were Canada Bound and Great Northern). On the first (GN?) where you should get 500 miles of track every year I got none and on the other the newspaper comes up with an announcement and then brings it up every other second - I played on until after a year end to see if it went away but no, so again just had to give the game up.
