A text appears when you mouse over the production icons of the quarry. It states that fertilizer will increase production of Crystals to 1.2 and Rock to 2.4 units per year. Quarries do not use fertilizer according to the cargo economy display. They also do not show any loads consumed. The Quarry.bty file has an entry "Granite" which is the source of the text message. I added production entries to the Quarry.bca file to use fertilizer and increase the output, but that did not fix the problem.
A quarry getting increased production from fertilizer seems reasonable. Nitrogen fertilizer mixed with diesel fuel is used as an explosive in rock mining.
Should quarries use fertilizer?
Re: Should quarries use fertilizer?
I would suggest the following:
* Reame Chemicals to Saltpeter. Make Saltpeter available from 1848.
* Create a Guano Mine that produces Saltpeter from 1800.
* Rename Ammunition to Explosives.
* Make Quarries and Coalmines demand Explosives.
