Locomotive Doubleheading calculations

Unread post by Lone Cat »

Yep i've just found out that several postwar locomotives (especially North American diesels) are NOT operated by JUST ONE UNIT, in fact they are all operated by double heading. making a new multiple unit operation locomotives in the game doesn't just mean "loco speed X2". is there any mathematics calculations for doubleheading?

EXAMPLE. Russian VL80t , and American FP45 cowl Diesels

FP45 Cowl unit never operates alone.

Russian VL80t always operates in pairs, hooked back 2 back

I did download "Double-headed" GP7 and its top speed never goes beyond ones of a single Geep, the differences however, was tractive effort on grade. the 'doubleheading' of GP7 did significantly increases hauling power required for freight operations, the only thing that 'double' is price.
