Over the past couple of days a couple of folks have reported that they are starting to have problems with getting logged out when trying to make a post.
I've looked into this matter and have made an adjustment to the cookie setting that - I hope - will clear this situation up.
You may have to clear your browser cache and delete the cookie from hawkdawg.com and accept a new cookie.
I'm still studying this matter and will report back here if I find anything new.
Apparently these members can still use the Private Message system so if you're still having problems posting please send me a PM.
If this corrects the problem, please post in this thread.
It would help me if you let me know which browser you're using and which version of that browser. It seems it could be a browser issue also. In particular IE7.

Re: Problems with getting logged out?
Not sure that meant much as I had to log in to start with as the IE cookie jar was empty.
Shhhhucks, no NetScrape!
These were from work. Will try from home computer later tonight Hawk where I think I have NetScrape, that Firefox that screws up and I may have IE7.

Re: Problems with getting logged out?
If it doesn't work you'll know because you won't be able to make a post.
You can type the message but as soon as you hit the Submit button you get logged out and the post won't submit.
Honestly - I didn't mean for everyone to post here. Only those that have experienced problems. I guess I should have made that clear.
Obviously if you still have the problem you won't be able to post. In that case PM me. If the problem clears up for you then post here.
Thanks for testing though Rat.

Re: Problems with getting logged out?
I haven't tried to post since yesterday, so here goes.
Oh, one piece of good news- I didn't have to log in.
{Of course, it logged me out as soon as i posted the first two lines. Let's see if this works.}
[It did.]
Seems to be still working - this is my 3rd revision of this post. I 'm using AOL 9.0 but i also have IE 7.0.6000.16609.

Does this mean you're no longer have any problems?
Did you delete the cookie and clear your browser cache?
What browser are you using?

Actually, I didn't clear anything yet.
I would have thought you had access to all passwords.

You should do this just to make sure you're working with the refreshed cookie and have a clean cache of the forum since I made the changes.Orange46 wrote:Actually, I didn't clear anything yet.
Nope! For everyones' personal security the password is encrypted for me, or anyone else. It's in the database but it's hashed - unreadable to me.Orange46 wrote:I would have thought you had access to all passwords.

Richard - You never did tell me what browser you're using. That would help to track down the problem.

Re: Problems with getting logged out?
Which one was causing the log-out problem?
Are you still having problems or is that cleared up? Apparently it's cleared up.
Help me out here a little Richard. Whatever info you can give me can only help.

Re: Problems with getting logged out?
AOL is what i was using. The problem seems to be mostly gone today, despite my still not clearing cookies or cache.

Re: Problems with getting logged out?
I'm hoping that it's fixed is because of the changes I made.
Let's go under the assumption that it's fixed and we'll see what happens.
