Hello All Unread post

I'm Superchief, new/old to this site. I've been bouncing around various RRT2 sites since that game came out in 1998. When H&B re-setup their forum I didn't re-register right away and now I find that I have been absent for too long. So I am back to bring some maps to RRT2 if anyone will have them.

That's my intro, now onto the boards!

(*!!wel aboard/back. :salute:
There is a bunch of RRT2 maps in the archive here, but I must admit, it seems most of the RRT2 activity/players are over at The Terminal.
But don't let that stop you from adding to the RRT2 community here, and I'm sure not trying to dissuade you from participating here. :-D

Re: Hello All Unread post

To add to my comment about The Terminal, there does seem to be a problem getting new maps added to the archive there. Last I knew, new maps can only be found scattered around through the various threads.

Re: Hello All Unread post

Welcome back SuperChief.

At the terminal, the newer RT2 maps are under RT2 maps and most have their own thread with the down loadable map at or near the top of their respective thread. There is normally info for each map in its' thread.

For some reason I had a problem moving the maps into the map section.
I haven't tried for a while. It is possible Jessie did fix this problem when he expanded the number of maps that these threads will hold.

We have both been busy for a while.

Hey, Gwizz, Hawk. Nice to be back.

I have to post my maps over at the Terminal? If I do so will people from H&G know about it?

No! You don't have to post your maps over at The Terminal. Not at all. You're more than welcomed to add them to the archive here. :salute:
Just email them to me and I'll get them added. !*th_up*!

I have RT2 installed, but don't play it so much, usually it's RT3. I might give your new maps a go, though!

I only keep the ticker updated for new files added to this site. ;-)
Superchief was asking if he added maps to The Terminal how would folks here know. Answer: They wouldn't unless they visited The Terminal. 8-)

Re: Hello All Unread post

I think maps should be posted at both sites. This acts as a backup for the other.

I believe Hawk does keep a backup copy. Not sure. I keep a backup on my home computer.

Chances are very low that a map would be lost, But a couple of maps have been lost in the past.

Re: Hello All Unread post

Good point Gwizz. I guess I should grab the maps you've posted over there and add them here.
I haven't done that yet 'cause I didn't want to take away from the traffic at The Terminal, but now that you mentioned that, I s'pose I should.

BTW! Did you ever check to see if new maps could be added to the archive over there yet?

Re: Hello All Unread post

Gwizz -
I downloaded, what I think is, all of your new maps at The Terminal. I'll add them to the archive here.
Below is a list of what I downloaded:

Alaskan Narrow gauge Rw 1.20.zip
B&O.zip
Eastern Washington.zip
Hard Times Narrow gauge.zip
James Hill in Mexico (ex-Hard).zip
James Hill in Mexico (Hard).zip
James Hill in Mexico.zip

Superchief -
While I was there I went a head and grabbed the 2 new ones you added.

Conrail.zip
Starvania.zip

I assume it's OK to add them here?

Nothing sinister - I've just been so busy with one thing and another and when I get the time to go on the computer I'm driving myself !hairpull! doing a new scenario which I seem to have been working on for half of my adult life! Hopefully at least a beta version coming soon!

Gwizz -
For these 3 maps, what's your thoughts on combining them into one zip?
I could make mention that the zip contains 3 maps: Normal play, hard play, and extra hard play.

James Hill in Mexico (ex-Hard).zip

James Hill in Mexico.zip

Re: Hello All Unread post

Putting those three maps in one zip pack is a good idea.
You are always free to do whatever you think is best with my maps.
If anyone wants to copy their maps to The terminal feel free to do so.
The reason Jessie allows maps to be posted in the forum is it give the poster a chance to change, remove, etc, a map before it is put into the archive. This saves us some time when changes are needed to a map that is already in the Archive.

I have not yet tried to move the older maps into the archive. I believe I can do that now. I just need some time to do it.

We are still dealing with snow and celebrating Christmas.
Yesterday I helped shovel out a son-in-laws car.

We really didn't get that much snow. We normally just don't see a lot of snow that stays for a while. Plows are still working on side streets. The freeways are now clean and it is raining. The auto body shops are going to be busy for a few months. We still see cars stuck in the ditches.
We have a visitor from Spokane. Spokane has over 4 feet of snow. With that much snow they plow it into the middle of the roads.

Re: Hello All Unread post

Another question Gwizz. Do your maps require TSC, Gold, or Platinum, or can they be played on the original version?
You didn't state in the threads at The Terminal.

BTW Superchief, (**!!sry about hijacking this thread.
