Campaign Menus

Unread post by nedfumpkin »

I decided to start tackling the campaign room screens, and below is a sneak peek at what they will look like. The photos will have images in them as the campaigns get made. Medals icons will be something like stars or similar. I am planning on putting a loopin video in the landscap photo on top of the others. Still lots of work to do but this will be the base.

If anyone has anthing they would like to post on the bulletin board just pm it to me. The tickets are just filler.

They look good so far. You could add a little photoshopped news clipping... chimp breaths new life into old game or something giving yourself some credit for a good job !**yaaa

I really like that idea. I'll see if I can come up with something to pin on one or more of the boards.
What size images do you have in mind? I know you can resize to make them smaller, so I guess - what I'm asking is - what is the smallest size you need?

The menus are 640 by 480, so not too small.

And thanks....I tried to go with something different but would also line up with the dsiplay cases on the old menus.

OK! I saved one to my desktop to use as a guide. I have some stuff from the old Western & Atlantic RR from back in the Civil War days that might go good somewhere.

If it is at all possible, I want to keep things in the era that they are from, so it would be on the Industrial Revolution page...but other than the photos and post-its...anything else is replaceable.

I'll just send you anything I find that you might want to use. I'll let you resize and what-not.

Any reason it's only 640 X 480 instead of 800 X 600? I think most folks run RT3 in at least 1024 X 768. I run it at 1280 X 1024.

If you're looking for some train photos and are concerned about copyrights, you can use anything you find of the photos I took while riding around the Northeast US, found at this link:

I took a quick peek and the zip...I'm mostly looking for tickets and other non-phot stuff. Since the photos are hot zones for clicking, I don't want to be too confusing. Ironically, one of the tickets that I found on the web is an amtrak ticket for a Mr. Scott.

I'll probably use the photos for something else Hawk. Nice pics btw.

The campaing menus are actually 3 second video loops. That's why the fan is spinning in the room. The transitions from room to room are also videos. For whatever reason the are 640x480...so that's why.

Got more done on the menus...here's the first menu...the photo below the banner is a video loop ....the photos at the bootom first appear in black and white, but on mouse-over , or when the display cases would normally be lit, the photo goes to colour....only 3 more to do, then the image swaps...should be done by the time the snow thaws. :)
