Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

A quick note on progress....got slowed down by a bit of a sore tooth and an absess, so not much got accomplished over the last couple of days. I did manage to complete all the buildings and I am sorting through the freight cars now.

I did notice that fertilizer wants to go in a tanker, but I am chainging that to a covered hopper. I'm making a few new ones for hauling stuff like uranium. So the covered hopper pak will fix the fertilizer problem for tankers.

Now, I go to the dentist.

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

Been to the dentist...there is a crack in my tooth, and for the last couple of days I've been on meds to reduce the swelling and relieve the pain. Feeling better now, and should be able to get back to work soon. We apoligize for the delay due to medical issues.

PS: If ever you have an abscess that decides to drain in your mouth....nothing served on Fear Factor could ever compare to the absolute disgusting smell and taste. ...200 year old cheese is mild in comparison. !*th_dwn*!

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

I know what you mean about the taste and smell. I was in a car accident back in '74 and broke my jaw. Due to an unclean hospital I got a staph infection when they put my jaw back together.
They had to put a drainage tube in my neck so they could come in twice a day to run a syringe in and squirt a cleaning solution to help clean out the puss that accumulated.
That doesn't seem so bad except when my jaw broke it also knowcked out a tooth back there so there was a hole that the cleaning solution would squirt into my mouth, with all that puss and infection in it.
Now remember, my mouth was wired shut so it was extremely difficult to spit that stuff out. Talk about a sickening taste and smell. A lot of it ended up getting swallowed, which didn't help my stomach at all, but I couldn't vomit because I would suffocate in my own vomit.
Due to the infection I had my jaw wired shut for about 7 months because the infection greatly slowed the healing down. I used to have to carry around a small par of wire cutters just in case I got sick, which did happen once. Then they had to re-wire it.

Eeew Yuck....last night I spent a few hours rinsing my mouth ever 30 seconds with baking soda and water. Helped with the taste and the nausea. But...the infection is almost all gone now.

Ugh!

This was such a good thread, now it's all stinky and disgusting!

Guess we need to hurry up and post enough to get onto page 11, so we can never be confronted with wire-restricted vomit and throat-draining abscesses...

Also Ned try putting a tea bag on the infected tooth, it will help draw out any infection quicker....

The Military Complex:

These are considered "Limited Industries" since the function the same as other industries but can neither be bought, built, nor upgraded. They can be spawned, placed, or added by event.

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

Well folks, after 8 months of obsessing and diligently tinkering.....the Alpha version of Trainmaster has been uploaded to Hawk. I've asked that the dowload link be posted in this thread only. I will also post patches here when they become necessary.

This is still very much a work in progress, however, this will allow map makers and scenario developers the opportunity to look at the game, and test out things.

Here is the readme file for it.

Edit: Some of the minor industries will be the subject of the first patch since I still need to work on the tourist traps, and some other things.

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

I tried following the install instructions. I did a clean install of RT3 from the CD, second I patched to 1.05. Then I emptied the folders in the instructions and copied the new data folder into the RT3 folder.

I get the opening menu screen, but when I try to open the editor I get a crash with this message:
Pack element < CarSideView_3.imb > not found

I see in the log file rt3_debug.txt that line and also another line:

Car Type 'ClassY6L' is missing the length points (i.e. 'ClassY6L_LengthPoint.3dp')

If I remove the ClassY6L .car and .loc files I still get the Pack element error, but no longer the ClassY6L in the log file.

Did I do something wrong in the install or is this a bug?

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

Carsideview3.imb is from the Coast to Coast Expansion pack, and so is the other file, so methinks you didn't install CTC which is required.

Download it from here.

After that, go through the steps to install TM again. It should work then.

Re: RRT 3 - Trainmaster Unread post

I should point out that there is a short cut to installing Trainmaster.

Copy your entire RT3 game folder and rename it Trainmaster.

Remove all mods from the PoptopExtraContent and UserExtraContent.

Remove the building types, cargo types and engine types files.

Unzip the files to where they belong.

Create a shortcut to launch the game. (I am creating an icon, but so far it still looks crappy.)

If you can remember what mods are installed. ^**lylgh

I'm going to start with a fresh install, after backing up the existing 1.05 install.
