Rice!

Not sure if this is the right forum for this as it may not be a bug.

Some of the industry's require rice, but I can't even find it listed in the overall industry list in the editor, much less in the game.
Will the lack of rice affect the industries output?

Rice is supplied by the Asian Farmsteads. I didn't put any on the text map, so Rice isn't out there. Industries that use rice also use other cargo which is on the map so it won't affect the production much, however, if it was supplied in addition to what is there, then the industries would be more profitable.

Was rice ever hauled in bulk, in a hopper car or only by the sack in a box car?

This is something I am working out with the freight cars, but yes, indications are that rice was hauled in a closed hopper like grain was. (is)
