Be very cautious using PhotoBucket Unread post

Please folks, be very leery of using PhotoBucket.
I just found out they place files on your hard drive from doubleclick and fastclick, and who knows who else. These can be found in your Temporary Internet Files. Adobe Flash Player Security caught this.

Also, the last 2 times I went to PhotoBucket I got a Trojan virus, as seen in the following screen-shot.

Oops! I accidently lost this image.

I have canceled my account with them.
Be very cautious if you use PhotoBucket.

Unread post

Well, it's been implied by a couple of folks at another forum that I don't know what I'm talking about.
Take this thread as you see fit.
All I know is I only got those prompts while at PhotoBucket, more than once, and have never had them before--anywhere.

Re: Be very cautious using PhotoBucket Unread post

Altough a very old thread, I ran a soft that checks if a site is dangerous or not. (I think it's Norton, and I will publish the link when I re-find it).
As of Today, PhotoBucket seems OK. It houses many reliable links of famous sites (Age of Empires II comes to mind), so as of Today, I wouldn't mistrust it that much.

Edit: here is the Norton link: http://safeweb.norton.com/dirtysites
Just type the name of the site you doubt and it will give you a very complete result, but doesn't seem to identify Malwares.

This should be an active thread, since we find, connect and download a lot of things that concerns us.

fer instanz, I tried downloading a famous chess game and it was virused, darn!

Let me/us know what's your update on this.

Yep! You're right. This is an old thread. About 5 years old, and quite a bit outdated now.
I haven't been back to Photobucket since I started this thread so I have no idea what's going on over there anymore.
I think this thread should be deleted. A new thread about downloading malware in general can be started, but this one is now a bit misleading.

I quite agree sir.
In fact, keeping up with malevolent sites or softs should be posted often with rings and whistles.
after all, "There is one of them, but we are many" The numbers prove that we can beat them, the !!censor!!
post your attacks, we all will work on it.

As for starting a new thread, I'm all for it! !*th_up*!
