I know this is not along the discussion at the moment, but---
I have played ION Beta & ION v2 about 7 or 8 times. Every time I play, Some of the trains continues to go North to the switch going to Ben Falls and reverse direction to the switch going to Tog City then back and forth continuiously. Is there something I haven’t or have done to cause this. This happens to the existing trains at game start and to the ones I have scheduled.
I work around this problem by running a spur off the track nearly in front of Port Norso station back down to nearly the end of double track. Then I bulldoze a section from the existing track. The trains run like they should, it just doesn't look right.

What option do you use to start the game? N/S/Start your own RR?
I've played S several times and never noticed trains misbehaving. ... But then I wasn't watching for them to go GAGA on me.

I'm going to start a new game V2_1 and see if I see anything strange.
Just a quick start for the first 6 mo. NO train(s) misbehaving.
You may have a problem with your RT3 V1.06 . I suggest creating a new folder and starting from scratch and make a new RT3 V1.06 RT3.exe. Then replacing the RT3.exe in your game folder with the new one.

Ahhh ... I see now. You have the EVENTs ACCESS N & ACCESS S. Change them to DENY ACCESS N/S ... player already has full access to the island.
DENY ACCESS N: Change 10 to 11 and set effect to FALSE (Player choose N RR, deny player access to S ... AI Co ID = 1)
DENY ACCESS S: Change 11 to 10 and set effect to FALSE (Player choose S RR, deny player access to N ... AI Co ID = 2)
Then to allow the ousted AI Co assess to ALL Territories:

There is a problem with the CHECK EVENTS. I just took control of the S and get a NEWS PAPER saying that I now control BOTH N & S RRs, which is NOT true as can be seen on the map with the N RR in RED.. This is an area of your program that I didn't mung ... would have IF I had noticed the ERROR while munging other areas.
I just noticed that I was getting an error for the deliveries tests in status ... I set the CONDITIONS to test >= 1949. This will allow the two new Cos to start and have valid ID #.
Actually testing against Co ID 5/6 doesn't make much sense ... they'lll never be able to meet the goals.

I'm not sure what is going on. There was an issue with one train from each company running into the other's territory & to the end of the line. The 1% of Industry profits messages are wrong. They both show 100% of the industry profit. I thought I fixed it by creating a new AREA 53 and computing the 1% value is steps into Area 53 TV1 and using it in the reports. Did it in the game I was playing and it didn't get updated in the version I posted.

Oilcan..... I would like to say, I really like this map and scenario. I like the detail of the terrain and I like the no-end until you are the only one left.

I appreciate the kind remarks. This is the only open ended game I have made. Most of my games run about 20-30 years. Having no time limit on this game allows me to relax and enjoy the mechanics of the game; watch the way things behave and change. Knowing that you will eventually win, one can unhurriedly explore the 1.06V industry strings and maybe learn something new about the nuances of the AI.AT41B wrote:Oilcan..... 22 years, Feb 1967 for gold on Expert, took the north company and bauxite/aluminum/goods. Very straight-forward. Reminds me why 1.06 cargos are a bit much sometimes...
