Here look. http://www.greenbiz.com/news/2010/11/02 ... ocomotives
This is old news (2010) but worths reading.
A locomotive for Eastern Seaboard, manufactured far to the west. Siemen electromotive train manufacturing plant in Sacramento. CA.
1. How far this project goes?
2. Will this also means west coast electrification of the 'Heavy Rails'?
3. Will CalTrain jumps into the bandwagon too?
4. Will the new locomotives support freigh duty? (and yet. more profitable than home-grown Diesel Hood units)?
5. How will it looks like? will it be Hood unit? single-ended cab unit? or Janus double ended 'european' cab units?
^ this thing is JUST a concept engine. it should be european double ender instead :P
