MagnusA:

I haven't used ISOs a lot, but I believe that you can choose to not finalize the DVD, as when burning normal DVDs, and then add your own files in a second session.

1. Pillaging is too easy. I finished January 1830 with $2 million PNW by starting companies, destroying them, then short selling them. You could write some events, or check off some special conditions that will put a limit on it. My experience is that pillaging is no longer fun, after you've done i...

I am not happy about lieing politicians, but what good does it do to have a law that isn't respected and especially isn't used. The legal system is already too complicated, getting rid of unused laws will make it somewhat easier.

When I checked the editor, I found a temp file to remove a 25% increase in breakdowns that expired in 1911; however, my breakdown probabilities were much higher than +25% - running as high as an over 200% chance of breakdown. Needless to say, until 1911, trains were crashing like crazy until I cabo...

The Lose event. It says Time = 75 years AND PNW < 50000K AND CBV < 100000K That won't trigger if your CBV is e.g. 110000K and your PNW is 40000K after 75 years (Bronze is CBV >= 100 AND PNW >= 50). But the editor doesn't sem to allow the proper event: (Time=75) AND (PNW < 50000K OR CBV < 100000K))....

I can only speak for myself, but one reason is probably that the BB and Challenger have extremely high fuel costs, despite being called "Average" on the sheet, which means that it is almost always more profitable to run trains with less mountain-climbing abilities. If those engines aren't ...

Re: Looney laws

In Denmark you cannot wear a mask. I don't know exactly how the law is worded, but the intention was that they didn't want demonstrators that came in ski masks and similair headwear and just were there to cause havoc and stir trouble. From what I have heard so is it only forbidden to wear masks dur...

Re: New Icons

Any opinions on the new icons? :) OK. I'll be the critical voice. I think that the icons are quite detailed, and it is hard to see what they are unless you really study them, and for instance the difference between new and old threads (the direction the head is in) is quite unintuitive. Somehow I a...

Yep! Works great for me too. !*th_up*! Unfortunately there could be a downside to this. I was talking to the owner of the hosting service this morning and he informed me that due to my bandwidth usage (I exceeded my limit of 150 GB last month by 64 GB and the month before by 124 GB) I may have to s...

Both the 1.05 patch and CtC is in Hawk's file archive, click on the Railroad Tycoon link above and then the logo for RT3 and you will see them. It was a long time since I installed them myself, but I think that you should install CtC first.

Hawk: Has you tested gFTP as FTP-client. It has a graphical interface and has at least the basic option.

If you have the right to write to the Windows partition, then you can copy/move any file you like, or at least in regular Linux.

One remark is that the fact that there only is a corresponding text for level 1-10, doesn't necessarily mean that 10 is the highest number that will have an affect. It could just be a formula that said, Average travel length before breakdown = Basic Travel Length * (Constant + Reliability Level), or...

A little snooping around on the Internet (again, thanks for the links Erik) I found out you can install Kubuntu from within the Ubuntu environment by using Synaptic, which I did. Turns out it doesn't give you a separate environment but installs Kubuntu inside the Ubuntu environment. Not what I want...

About Anti-Virus: There isn't that many viruses for Linux. Partly because there is less users, and partly because it is safer. The normal Windows-mode for home-users, is to always run as root/admin. Ubuntu dowsn't have a root-account by default, but instead let's you get root-access temporary by sta...

If I download Ubuntu or Kubuntu (so I can try it on a cd first), should I get Version 7.04 or 6.06 LTS? What is the difference in them? The number tells when the version was put together, 7.04 means april this year and 6.06 means june last year (2006). There will normally be a new version every apr...

Hawk: I am a bit of an idiot! I didn't read danielches post on the first page about WUBI and I had no idea what it was until I recently saw a discussion about it in a chatroom. The swap file is actually a special swap partition, and 512 MB is ok for it (more won't hurt if you have a big harddrive). I have never had any problems with doubling tha AIs track. If the scenario demands that you lays continuous track, then you can start at the track piece just before you connects to the AI, and trag the double track from there and until you pass the AIs station.
