Re: 1 Insustry Supplying 2nd Industry in Same Station Area
Sorry, I didn't make that clear. Yes they are in the same station radius. I sort of noticed this same thing with grain farms that were in the same station radius as a dairy, sheep farm, or cattle ranch. I expected increased production from them, but didn't see it. I wasn't sure about it though. Howe...

1 Insustry Supplying 2nd Industry in Same Station Area
I have a tire factory and auto plant being served by the same station. I am delivering rubber and steel to the station, but no cars seem to be produced. I have a train waiting for a load of cars and it never gets loaded. The train sat for years and loaded no cars. Do I need to deliver tires from the...

Re: Game Play Differences Between Versions of RRT 2?
Thanks. You guys gave me the info I was seeking. My teenage son gave me the original RRT2 for Christmas. Bless his heart - he remembered that several months ago I thought RRT2 would be fun because you have full control over managing cargo as opposed to RRT3 where cargo is auto managed for the most p...

Game Play Differences Between Versions of RRT 2?
Are there any differences with the game play between the original RRT2, RRT2 gold, and RRT2 Platinium?
What I mean is there any differences in the game engine? I'm not asking about scenarios, loads, industries, etc, but were there tweaks made to the game engine between versions?

Re: Firing On Screen Player
Tried mimicking the event coding for Chicago to NY. Still didn't work. As with other attempts, I still got the "fired" message but could continue playing the game as the company CEO.
Anyone have other ideas?

Re: Firing On Screen Player
Thanks, EPH. I thought there was a scenario that I could look at that did something similiar, but couldn't recall which one it was. I'll let you know how it works out.

Firing On Screen Player
This seems like it should be simple, but I am having a problem with it. The scenario is the on screen player is fired if he doesn't connect 2 certain cities by a given year. The condition I have set is "force test against companies", test against on screen player only and year = xxxx and c...

Restricting Number of Bonds?
Is there a way to restrict the number of bonds that can be issued to a company? I know you can turn off bonds completely, but I don't want to do that. I just want to restrict the number of bonds that can be issued to some number less than the game engine allows.

"Built In" Events in Maps?
I am working on a scenario to re create the building of the Pennsylvania RR. I decided to use the East of Missippi map as it had all the territory I need. I saved the map under a new name and removed all the events from it. I am trying to do it historically, so I start in 1846. I've added several ev...

Industry Percentages
When creating a scenario and setting up industries in a region or city, industries are presented in a list for which you can move a slider to set a percentage from zero to 100 for each industry. What do the percentages represent? Is the the percent chance each year that a particular industry will ap...

Re: Flaming Express
Unfortunatley it happened over a year ago, so I have no saved version of it. Been meaning to post about it since then but never got around to it. Wish I had. It lasted the rest of the scenario. Have not had it happen since.

Flaming Express
Has anyone else ever had this happen? A train crashes and is burning. I don't remeber if I elected to replace it or let it die. Anyway, just as the crashed train disappears, a train comes along and picks up the flaming animation. Now I had a flaming express running on the line. It was actually prett...

Coast to Coast Download
I went to the page on this site to download the COast to Coast Expansion (119 MB). When I clicked the download and told it to save the file, all I got was a rt3_coast_to_coast.exe. Does this start the download or is this just the exe file for coast to coast?

Taking Over Assets of Out of Business Companies
An AI company goes bankrupt, then goes out of business. When there are other AI companies still in the game, when you go to the merger screen, the out of business company shows up and you can purchase their assets. However when there are no other companies (except yours)in the game and you try to go...

RRT3 1.03 Temporary Event Bug?
I am running RRT3 1.03 because it works with VISTA.
When I set up a scenario with temporary events like "train speeds decreased 33% for 3 years", at the end of the 3 years, the trains speed remain decreased. Is anyone aware of a bug with 1.03 where temporary conditions are not temporary?

The steel mill and auto plant were ones that I serviced prewar - delivered raw materials, took away product. The steel mill I kept serviceing at reduced level during the war as I spread the raw materials to another steel plant on a more beneficial route. The auto plant I stopped providing materials ...

Industries Disappear
I set up a war scenario where production of weapons and ammunition increases along with the appropriate supplies (steel (+100%), tires (+50%), chemicals(+50%)) and decreased automobile production (-50%). I set up events to add steel mills, tire plant, and chemical plants. After the war, I reduced th...

I had looked there and didn't find them. That is why I asked the question. Turns out, In VISTA they aren't saved in the Railroad Tycoon 3 folder. They are saved in a HIDDEN PROGRAMS folder. I found them by doing a search of my C drive using the extensions. When it didn't find them, I changed the sea...

Where Does RRT3 Store Maps and Scenarios?
I can't figure out in what directory or folder RRT3 stores maps and scenarios I have created. I've looked in all kinds of RRT3 directories and folders with no luck.
What file extension do the maps and scenarios have?

RRT3 Interesting Observations on AI Performance
I created a map and scenario and ran it and noticed some interesting AI behavior. The map had 10 cities and about 12 regions, a couple rivers, a mountain, and a plateau. I allowed ample and diverse industry. My goal was to get the AI to build track. I created an AI company, built track between 2 cit...
