well something definitely not right, just re-downloaded everything and re-extracted everything and still when I click to start the game either in editor or launching a map it goes to desktop.... This is on a system running XP not Vista....Ned is that making a difference?

Well its now crashing as soon as I hit the button to load a map to play as well, this is a new install on the other system and thought this was all worked out LOL that's why I am wondering if its me that has forgotten something....But I did everything according to the posts again and it worked 1st t...

Ok Ned awesome....thanks for your help getting me going and thanks for all your hard work on this. I look forward to getting something going with it but I think I have to play it a little while to get the jest of it all....

SUCCESS....and actually made it to the editor to create a small 5 city map to play around on.....let the fun begin.
Ned please advise if there are any needed downloads, I am seeing all kinds of small additions by you, do I need to go back and download them all?

Thanks Ned, that solved it.....so now clean install, CTC added and patched up to 1.05, so now the deletion of various files and the adding of the TM content.....keeping my fingers crossed, you say to use the 1.04 exe and not what is in the copied folder correct?

LOL ok how about this one.....after downloading the 1.05 patch and running it in Winzip it starts to extract then about 70% of the way through stops and gives me this message.....Cant Create Output File: C:\Program Files\Railroad Tycoon 3\rt3.exe Sheeesh whats next.....

Ok so the only patch to original RRT3 that is NOT needed is 1.06.....CTC and the 1.05 IS needed? because I have the clean install to CTC did not patch to 1.05. Other than that the 1st time I did all this was as described in last post, but we'll go again with the clean install and see what happens......

Problem is it's hanging when trying to double click the icon to run it, do I have to use the 1.04 exe to run it or is that even a possibility as the problem? I double click the icon, hear the dvd drive start up and pointer goes from arrow to a revolving disc that just never goes away, I have to log ...

Well what I was afraid of has happened, I tried the copy RRT3 folder/rename/delete various files/download TM/ do the extract thing into the various folders/run new patch/ and whadda ya know cant even get it to run. Sooooo I deleted everything/fresh install of RRT3/ CTC patched and now RRT3 in the CT...

Anyone playing TM on Vista? I am almost afraid to uninstall RRT3 on the laptop (which runs fine) to play with TM. Let me understand the requirements for TM a clean install of RRT3, CTC patched and nothing else? no 1.05 or 1.06 correct? I am very curious to try a modern map of typical eastern farmlan...

I totally agree as well, there are some who as soon as a new scenario pops up downloads it and BOOM they playing in hardcore mode, which is awesome but I gotta start slower ^**lylgh . Get a feel for the scenario so to say, try it on medium and then up the difficulty. Seems some tricks work on all sc...

Well a quick update, since my conversion on April 2 I must say that its been pretty decent. Firefox loads faster, looks better and runs smoother on this machine and since my ISP is 3G now thats a big positive. Sooo guys for leading me in the right direction....

Ned, I downloaded everything fine, extracted and did the copy and paste thing with all the files. When I start up the game and go into editor the game shuts down and its saying this in a pop up box, "Pack element <ChemTankA_profile.imb> not found....What ya make of that?
