Ok railfans, I have a question for anyone who may have some eastern rail knowledge. I am trying to find some information on a long gone line called the Cincinnati, Jackson and Mackinaw. Best so far I can find is the trackage was completed in or around 1894 and then bought up by the Cincinnati Northern around 1896. I have found a couple sites that are basically Wikipedia hits that tell me just what I have said here so far. Trying to nail down any pics, or documents or any more information I can find. I have a couple souveniers off this line including an old mile post. The interest stems from the fact that this line more or less ran through my back yard. Probably not the forum to throw this up in (So forgive me Hawk) but never hurts to ask as many folks as you can about certain things. On another note finding out the old route list of this line would be a fun scenario to model, at least for me it would....
Thanks Guys
Ziggy

Re: Anyone with US rail history knowledge
Thanks Wolvy, thats one of the sites that I had already found. It does list the CJ&M as a railroad but of course no link with any information about them. It does however provide a link ro the Cincy Northern who bought up the CJ&M in or about 1896. But still at a dead end for any info on the CJ&M itself.
Really appreciate the help, was hoping either you or Mr. WP&P (Mike being from the Queen city area) could find something that I can't seem to locate myself.

Re: Anyone with US rail history knowledge
For what it is worth, I used an e-mail to a museum in an area where I thought a railroad had run.
They passed my requests among members and found nothing to help me, but referred me to another museum that did have some of the information I was looking for.

Never thought of that one Gwizz, good call since Cincy Northern at least has some resources about it. Being the company that bought them out its surely worth a try.

Re: Anyone with US rail history knowledge
You might try the main library at OSU in Columbus, they used to have a lot of material from around that time. I remember my grandfather going there to look up records of family members serving during the Civil war, the war between the states, or the war of northern agression depending on where you live. They may be able to help you out.
