As it stands right now, I'll be updating the forum Friday sometime. It will probably take a couple of hours.
Not sure right now when I'll start though.

This is working correctly.Hawk wrote:I just checked the PM settings and PM's shouldn't be deleted when the box gets full (50) It should just hold back any new messages.
Sure we might change our mind, but sometimes there's a report for a test or two that I may want to refresh on the details later. I don't keep that much trail of testing I do elsewhere except some spreadsheets. I guess it's just me that wants to save what I wrote too (Sent Messages). The solution of saving the webpage gives me what I want.

A little late to the party here, but mediafire should be fine for downloads. The problem with the upload type sites is that you never know how long they will be around for. If you checked in 2012 there may have been several other options like rapidshare and megaupload which are no longer around. It seems mediafire says they won't remove your file as long as your account is active which is nice. Some of the other file upload sites used to require the file be downloaded at least once every 30 days or it would be removed.
Re: Important Notice: Forum Glitch - Website Update!
That's why I chose MediaFire. They don't do that. Most other sites do.Blackhawk wrote:Some of the other file upload sites used to require the file be downloaded at least once every 30 days or it would be removed.
All I have to do is login at least once every 300 to 700 days. I think I can do that.

I've swapped to a modified version of Aero Black now. It's not bad. I'll probably tweak it some more.
I have to say that phpBB's coding is a horrible mix of crud that belongs back in the 90's. Well, some of it anyway. Scary stuff.

And this is the newest version.
Probably a lot like Microsoft. They don't build new OS's from scratch. They just write new code to add to the older versions.
Did you notice you can collapse categories in the Aero styles?
How 'bout the Lightbox display of images. I added that to this install.

Re: Important Notice: Forum Glitch - Website Update!
Yup, saw that. And TBH I find Lightbox too slow to load for my taste. I prefer right click>open in new tab.

Slow? Loads pretty quick for me. Just as quick as without, and I never right clicked to view an image. I just left clicked on it. Lightbox is a lot quicker for me than right click>open in new tab.
How about the new news scroller? I like it better because it will be easier to update.

I guess you've already noticed you can still right click>open in new tab.

Unfortunately Opera doesn't work and I hate pretty much every other browser but I guess I'll have to use Chrome just for this forum.
With any luck the next Opera update will make things right

What do you mean, Opera doesn't work? Can you be a little more specific?

That reminds me of the "bug reports" I used to get back when I ran a site.

I hear ya'. I get emails like that all the time about RT3. I just direct them to the forum.

Well, it's true it doesn't work in Opera. I'll try to post a screenshot if I can.
The drop down menu's opened on their own. I can close one but if I try to close a second one the first one re-opens. I can open different forums or threads but they all look like this screenshot. Anyway, no worries if it isn't fixable. I can use Chrome to get my RRT3 fix.

Re: Important Notice: Forum Glitch - Website Update!
I had that problem too at first, but it seems to have resolved itself after I switched themes. The default is fine for me now, when I view it before logging in.
I suspect it's due to cached CSS conflicting with the new version. Have you tried clearing Opera's file cache?

Clearing cache is always worth trying in these situations.

Re: Important Notice: Forum Glitch - Website Update!
I saw that at first as well, in Firefox 43.04. Clearing the cache did the trick.
Glad it's working for you now CeeBee.
I still remember your RT website. You had a forum too, didn't you?

I don't have any grandkids, but the rest applies to me too.
