More modern steamers. Unread post

Couple of interesting projects.

A new B.R. Class 6MT 'Clan' Pacific being built: http://www.72010-hengist.org/index.php

And info on the proposed rebuild and modification of an old ATSF Hudson: http://www.santafe3463.org/

I like these projects that do updated versions of classic locomotives. Best of both worlds. (0!!0)

OH that seems awesome. This would be great to see. I'd also like to see an operating Big Boy. I was standing next to one years ago and a man that had worked on them said it was nothing like standing next to it when it was breathing.
For my next trick I'll need a volunteer.

I'm sure you already know about Tornado, the Peppercorn A1 4-6-2 that was recently built in England. The same crew have started a new project. I've known about this one for some time, but for anyone who didn't: http://www.p2steam.com/

I am really looking forward to seeing a modernised P2, as I think it is one of the coolest locomotives ever. The styling is just so clean and elegantly proportioned. It really was a masterpiece.

It was always designed for express work. Both the LNER P2 and the Prussian P10 (or BR 39 if you prefer) were designed and built for the same purpose: hauling express over heavy grades.
