Help Please

I'm having trouble installing the Coast to Coast expansion pack.
From what I understand, I have to change the default location because Windows won't allow me to make changes to the Program Files folder.
So I uninstalled RT3 and re-installed it to the root of the C:\ drive. Then I downloaded the Coast to Coast expansion and unzipped it to
C:\railroad tycoon 3. But now when I try to play the game, it opens, but without the expansion pack installed.

Can someone please tell me what I did wrong?

I'm using windows 8.1 and installing RT3 from disk.

I'm assuming you installed RT3 to C:\railroad tycoon 3 as well and not something like C:\RT3?

You may also want to try running the Coast to Coast patch as an administrator (right click on it and do run as administrator.)

Hi, thanks for answering.
I did in fact do something similar to what you suggested. I installed RT3 to c:/, but then installed Coast to Coast to c:/Railroad Tycoon 3.
This meant that both installs were in different folders. So I uninstalled everything and started over and it works this time. THANKS!
I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

Now all you need to do is install the 1.05 patch.

If you're interested in installing the 1.06 patch, I recommend reading this topic about multiple installs.

Also, if you installed RT3 from a disc, and you need to have the disc in the drive to play RT3 after installing the 1.05 patch, see this link.
