New install and patch 1.04 now cannot save Unread post

Hello readers,
Another problem.
Reinstalled RT3 version 1.00. Runs ok.
Created a folder in Railroad Tycoon 3 called Railroad Tycoon 1.04. Copied folder Railroad Tycoon 3 into Railroad Tycoon 104. RT3 ran OK. Ran patch 1.04. Ran RT3 OK. Went to save and message: WinZip Self-Extractor Can't create output file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Railroad Tycoon 3\Railroad Tycoon 1.04\rt3.exe.
Message in RT3 screen after failure of saving:-
'Unable to create saved game.
This may be because you don't have user
privileges to create files (i.e. you're using a
Limited User Account), or because you're
trying to overwrite a saved game that is write
protected.'
No files in the directory. It's new. First game.posting.php?mode=post&f=82#
Privileges have done everything else no problems. Patch seems to have effected the privileges?

Hello readers,
I don't know what went wrong but, this morning I deleted the 104 folder and reinstalled it along with the 104 patch and it works just fine and I can save files.
Seems there still a few gremlins in Windows even version 10.

Sounds like fun. My old motherboard karked it the other day, so I'm having to start from scratch on W10 myself.

My initial impression is that W10 is a massive PITA.

I'm still running Win 7 and hope I never have to go to Win 10. I just hope my hardware holds out until I can't use a computer anymore.

^**lylgh Yes I did, and I hung in there for quite a while too.
If I remember right, the reason I had to move to Win 7 was due to new hardware.

At my age though, and health issues, I may not have to worry about Win 10, if my current hardware holds out.

TBH I'm finding W10 to be so annoying, and so invasive, that I'm seriously considering setting up a dual boot with an installation of W7 that never goes anywhere near the internet. That way I can use W10 for emails, general browsing and downloads but use W7 unpatched for everything else. When browsing or doing emails I'm not using the W10 interface anyway, so it doesn't annoy me, and W7 won't need security updates if it's effectively sandboxed.
