I go back to Railroad Tycoon Deluxe (which I still play using the dosbox 0.72 shell over Win XP sp3); also went through RT2 and all expansions; and RT3, +CtC and 1.05. I thought I was the only one still doing this! This site is a goldmine. I've been playing my own maps for too long (none ready to share without a thorough overhaul first; when I do, I hope to include some local stuff- I see two maps in the archive from the opposite corner of my state already- I will certainly add to that if I can- see below please). When I was a kid (back when dinosaurs ruled the earth) I had several model railroads, so this has always been an interest.
I'm between houses and my real computer and stuff is all packed away, so I've been using a dell laptop and missing RT, until about 4 months ago when I saw RT3 in jewel case in someplace like Target, and snatched it up quicker than a mail grab at a whistle stop. It's a stripped-down version (even says 'jewel case' version on the disk header). It has some quirks and the maps may have been tweaked but it says 1.05 on it. Among things missing (like the Intro movie), is the Map Builder! If anyone knows where I can get this separately, I would appreciate the word.
Thanx H&B.
Greetings

aboard!
You can download the Map Builder at this link: http://hawkdawg.com/rrt/rrt3/Xtras/Tips_Tuts_Utils.htm It's about 218 MB.
Just scroll down the page about half way to find the link.

As I've said before, the only dumb question is a question not asked.MisterHinton wrote:Many thanks Hawk. Sorry for the greenhorn post- I'll look around more thoroughly next time.

Welcome aboard! If there is anything else you are looking for then you'll most likely find it here. As far as RT3 goes, this place is the centre of the universe...that's the other side of New Hampshire. ...Georgia :)
